EDWARD A. COSGROVE
Edward A. Cosgrove spent over a decade working as a cameraman in the motion picture industry in New York, and in Hollywood, before deciding to become an attorney. Mr. Cosgrove is both a trial lawyer, and an appellate lawyer. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA (Department of English, summa cum laude), and his law degree from Loyola Law School, in Los Angeles. In addition to his academic honors, Mr. Cosgrove has accumulated expertise across a wide range of legal specialties. He has been published in two law reviews, and has consistently been recognized for his writing skills, as well as his ability to argue cases in court, at both the trial and appellate levels. For the past ten years, Mr. Cosgrove has additionally served as a practice-coach for Loyola Law School’s Jessup International Moot Court competition teams. Prior to joining The McElfish Law Firm, Mr. Cosgrove ran his own practice for six years, and, before that, worked in defense litigation and appellate specialty firms in Los Angeles. Mr. Cosgrove’s practice focuses upon business and commercial litigation matters; civil appellate matters; and transactional law involving the negotiating and drafting of contracts within the fields of music and entertainment, as well as in general business contexts. He also serves as general counsel to a boutique web-development company. When he’s not practicing law, Mr. Cosgrove spends much of his free time playing music, in front of live audiences.
